Raka is a patrol officer. Months ago, he was assigned to protect a key witness in a criminal case — a woman named Alma. One night, Alma sent out a distress call through the emergency police frequency.

Her voice was panicked, distorted by static. She said someone was following her. The last signal came from a remote rest stop — Exit 44. Raka responded immediately. But by the time he arrived… she was gone. The CCTV system was offline. The gas station was abandoned. Her car was still parked, locked from the outside. But there was no sign of Alma.

No blood. No struggle. No answers. The investigation led nowhere. Some said Alma fled. Others believed she never existed. But Raka knew… something was wrong that night. Since then, he hasn’t been the same. He took leave. He stopped talking about the case. But the guilt stayed.

Tonight, six months later, something changes. While driving past Exit 44, the radio crackles.
