Last Delivery

Your breath was still ragged. Your legs felt heavy, but you kept running until the light of the streetlamp greeted you—signaling that you had left the place. It was dark, silent, as if the outside world never knew what had just happened inside. In your hand was still the last package, the battered cardboard box you had clutched tightly throughout the chase. 

The recipient's name was clearly written, but you knew that person was gone. They were the last victim of the killer who had nearly taken your life as well. You stood for a long time in the lamplight, trying to process everything. The simple profession of being a courier should only be about delivering goods, not about witnessing horror, blood, and death. But tonight, your job had turned into a silent witness to tragedy. 

 You had survived. You could leave, leaving all that horror behind. But deep down, there was one bitter truth you couldn't deny: this last package… wasn't just an item. It was a sign, the conclusion to the killer's string of deaths. And now, you alone held the end of that story. The last package… truly was the Last Delivery.
